The Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy is a public university specialised in applied sciences aimed to pave innovative pathways in education and research, responding to the modernization and innovation of society itself. The SMOCA project will be carried out by the staff of Institute of Life Sciences (ISV). ISV carries out mutidisciplinary studies on the relationships between agriculture, environment and biodiversity protection, and rural territory management, in particular the focus is on research, consulting and higher education activities in the following domains: the analysis of agriculture-environment relationships at farm and landscape scale; the development and application of innovative methodologies for studies on landscape issues and biodiversity in agroecosystems; non food uses of crop and forestry species. The experience useful for this project proposal are: environmental impact assessment and environmental monitoring (air, water, soil; crop).
The SSSA will contribute to:
– Monitoring of greenhouse gas (CO2 ed N2O) fluxes from soil for the evaluation of the GHG mitigation potential of different cropping systems;
– Modelling of the nitrogen and carbon cycles, to understand the effect on C and N cycle of the agro-ecosistem;
– Life cycle assessment analysis and economic evaluation at cropping system scale, including all energy inputs and technical resources for the three technical itineraries proposed in the three different scenarios.

-2005 MS Degree in Environmental Science, University of Pisa (110/110). The title of dissertation was “Environmental and hydrological characterization of Isluga bofedal, Chile”, 5 months research training at Pontificia Universidad Catolica in Valpariso, Chile.
-2008 Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry, at School of Chemical Sciences, University of Siena, Supervisor Prof. Simone Bastianoni. Thesis title “Application of the IPCC greenhouse gas inventory at local scale with the bottom-up approach: the case study Siena Province”.
-2009 post-doc researcher at Institute of Life Science of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. The research is focused on environmental balances for food and no food agricultural system and GHG emissions mitigation in agriculture, including field soil emissions monitoring and LCA evaluation of food and no food chain. -2011 Summer School “Flux measurement techniques: methods, sensors, databases and modelling”, Poznan University of Life Science, Tuczno, Poland in September 2011.
She is co-author of peer reviewed paper in international and national journal and of book chapters.
